my story

NatureCentric is a life long journey that began with me questioning my purpose in life. Ever since I was a child, I have asked myself "Who am I?" and "Why am I here?". What does it mean to be alive? What is consicousness? Are we humans really the rulers of this planet? Is there a God? Is it a he? Is he the judging unforgiving God of Islam and Christianity? My experience with Islam and Christianity was a difficult one. I do not believe in this male patriarchal God that punishes humans and calls our unique expressions perversions. So I was aethiest for several years - but that was a logical, dry and joyless existence. There was no celebration. Nothing to celebrate about life. Following this urge to celebrate something - perhaps life, I turned to seasonal celebrations. The cycles of the earth. The onset of spring and autumn. I found solace in the mystery that lies in the deep dark void of the cosmos. I see strength in the unpredictable and untamable forces of nature.

The more I questioned these things, the more I was drawn to the mysteries around us. The unseen yet omnipresent world of microorganisms existing simultaneously with the seen world of plants and animals. I find myself drawn to the indegenous ways of connecting to the life around us. I believe that the people who have lived in thriving forests for generations hold the secrets to how we can live in harmony with nature. Internal harmony - to find balance and peace within ourselves and external harmony - to find balance with the living world around us.

My goal is to tap into this world of wisdom and find and share information that urban dwellers such as me can use to organize our life and activities in ways that will continue our support our existence on this planet. I call this paradigm NatureCentric, one that sees humans as a part of the intricate web of life and not as above. it.

I see myself as a bridge between the world of science and spirituality. I call myself an apprentice of Spiritual Ecology. I am now seeking mentors and guides who will help me bring these ideas to life.
