Herb Garden De Meent

An initiative of the Wereldhuis and Diaconie Protestent Church in Amsterdam, I am super thrilled to be a part of this wonderful project. Our goal is to co-design and co-create a herb garden for culinary and medicinal purposes that also serves as a social and cultural space. A place for learning herb cultivation; getting your hands earthy and socializing. A little refuge that welcomes everyone regardless of their legal status; skin colour; gender; sexual orientation; and/or religious beliefs.

You can find out more on the website of the farm De Meent.

Below you can get an impression of the work we are doing (latest pictures on top):

My role in this project together with Toby is:-

  • Facilitate the design process by using Participatory Action Research (PAR)

  • Teach people about herbs for culinary and medicinal purposes

  • Facilitate co-learning of how to grow herbs and maintain a herb garden

  • Teach uses for the herbs and make products together.
